Balloon Ride Blog Hop with the Greenhearts

Hello and welcome to our current blog hop featuring team members of the Greenheart CTMH team!
Our feature paper package this month is the soft and beautiful BALLOON RIDE!

This is a circular Hop, so as long as you arrive back where you started you’ve seen all of our Artwork.
If you arrived from Lynettes page you are on the right track.
A complete list of participants can be found at the bottom of this post.
I knew I wanted to create something unique with this package and chose to use the banner frame found in our 3D section of papercrafting goodies. Keeping it simple was also a priority as you sometimes lose the feel of a pattern or design if it gets too too busy. By keeping my elements to simply some paper and the Compliments package I think it works well with the project.

Adding the banner in the left corner proved to be a bit of a trick. I just love how you can repurpose embellishments to work in a variety of scenarios. I didn't want to simply tie the banner on so instead thought these Photo Pins would work well - and that they did. I stuck them down good with massive gluedots, making sure the hoops were over the edge of the frame BEFORE I put on my top paper cover. Doing it this way gave me an anchor for my twine on the 'swag'.

You can also see in the close up photo how the depth of the frame allows for adding dimension with layers and POP DOTS! Never scrap without them! To create the center of the flower I used paper flowers with a bead attached to the center (these were a dollar store find) and 'squinched' them upward with my fingers. The gluedots came into play again to hold them down on the chipboard Compliments flower. Placing them close together resulted in a great dimensional center!

A few more tiny elements such as sparkles and antiqued studs set this off just right!

And last but certainly not least a card. The soft tones of this paper package lend itself to many applications and I found myself in need of a Sympathy card this past week. I layered the flowers simply but stamping several images and cutting out the centers as needed. Pop Dots to the rescue again! I hope you like!

This is the stamp set used.

Thanks for popping in to see what keeps my heart happy and I hope I've inspired you to create art from your heart too!

Now hop on over to
Julies page to see what joyful creation she's showcasing with this package!

Stay tuned for next month when our hop will be 'ANYTHING GOES' - a variety of selections from our Spring/Summer Idea Book!

Beautiful projects and I agree that most projects are saved by pop dots! I do not know what I would do without them!
